Engineering Challenge
Existing water meters generated pulse signals that already represented valuable consumption information.
The engineering problem was not how to replace the meter. It was how to validate and process its existing pulse signal reliably, calculate useful metering values, and make those values available to downstream systems.
The solution therefore needed to preserve the existing metering infrastructure while making its information available to additional systems.
Engineering Principle
AMNETPRO did not treat the existing meter as a problem simply because a new digital requirement appeared.
Instead, the engineering focused on extending the value of the existing asset.
The goal was to create new capability without creating unnecessary replacement cost.
Engineering Approach
AMNETPRO developed dedicated edge hardware capable of receiving meter pulses, validating accepted signals, maintaining pulse counts and calculating flow and accumulated volume from the configured metering scale.
The resulting metering information can then be exposed through configurable Pulse Out and UI1203 interfaces while the original meter remains in service.
Implemented Solution
AMIR Micro receives and validates meter pulses at the edge, then converts accepted pulse counts into accumulated volume and live flow.
Configurable Pulse Out can generate downstream pulse information from the accepted metering volume, while UI1203 provides a separate metering interface when required.
This allows downstream monitoring, control or metering environments to use the information without changing the original meter itself.

What This Project Demonstrates
